Increasing demands of inpatient level care continue to pose challenges hospital resources and available capacity. Alternative disposition pathways overseen by allied professionals (AP) that utilize extended recovery unit (ERU) hours conditional discharge (CD) can reduce bed use, total time spent at the overall resource utilization. To demonstrate implementation utilizing CD same day (SDD) with an ERU reduces without compromising patient safety. An was created utilization optimize pathways. This included 6 beds, 2 registered nurses overnight coverage. Patients (pts) presenting for elective electrophysiology procedures were classified into three different including SDD, admission EP professional (EP AP) service. All 3 APs. Pts in SDD group required meet specific criteria noted AP be considered safe discharge.
